Amazing phone for its time. I absolutely loved my iPhone 4 but as time went on it eventually slowed down and couldn't keep up with recent phones. The iPhone 4 introduced a new design, front facing camera, a "retina" display, a instant messaging service called iMessage and added a new feature called Facetime. I loved this phone and hoped that future versions of the iphone would keep bring as many new features as the iphone 4 did.
(Dad's phone) Dad gave me his Nexus One then bought this so he could sell it later at a relatively high price. I have to thank him because I got the obviously superior device. This phone was lagging on iOS 7.1 when my Nexus One ran so smooth on 4.4 Kitkat.
The home button broke quite quickly both on this phone and dad's iPad 2. Luckily he was still able to sell this phone in 2012.
LG GT505 was a big disappointment, so I decided to spend some money and "invest" in a proper smartphone. iPhone 4 is still one of my favourites. Reliable for the two years I used it, sold it on for decent money too. Only problem was the home button started to get sticky through use. Successive iOS updates made it sloooooooow
As with most iPhones pre iPhone 5, the phone was great until they made you update to a newer operating system, then it became slower than a snail and not functional. Apple iPhones were good as they had better apps compared to iPhone (pre 2015) due to the fact that many Android devices had flawed hardwares preventing applications from being installed to SD cards as many Androids came with minute internal storage space, that's all changing now.
Like my previous phone, it was given to me from my mom after she dropped it in a lake. All that broke was the battery, so I just swapped that out for a new one. At the time, the Retina display was quite fantastic. Even now, it still is better than some (very few) modern (budget) Android phones. This phone was and always is going to be a beautiful device, just showing off that eye-catching Apple design. Not only was the hardware beautiful, the software was too. Like the iPhone 3GS, it was fast and fluid and ran well even in 2014. But then... I decided to update it to iOS 7. It went from an F1 race car to an old Honda Civic. When I couldn't downgrade, I decided it was time for me to jump to another platform.
I loved the small size of this phone. Fits well in the hand or in a pocket. Easy to use with one hand. Only drawback was the small screen. Didn't have the best reception in areas with low cell signals and would often drop calls.
